“Stay hungry. Feast on success.” Anonymous
Before we begin, I want you to do a small experiment. Just close your eyes for few seconds and think for the moment about the times when you started your professional journey.
Now, slowly open your eyes. Can you recall what you just saw?
You had the hunger to do something new and there was a fear and anxiety in your mind. Do you think you still have this?
If your answer is No then you’re in same boat as others.
There’re different groups of people in this whole world. There is one group who gets easily distracted and lose hope.
Then there is another group who retain the same hunger and have the same fear from the very beginning that keeps them going. This particular group belongs to ‘Master Achievers’. They’re the ones who have the firm commitment on their road to success. It is better you come to another group of people if you want to be successful. This ability separates the master achievers from the rest of people as they are always PASSIONATE about learning.
Can you think of one thing in a prospect back in your school or college days? I’m sure it wasn’t speed or talent. Then, what was it?
Yes, you gotta right!
It was Hunger!
Hunger for achieving something!
But, how do you identify your hunger? One that is both essentially motivating and powerful. It might take years to answer this question.
There may be some people who would spend their entire life identifying their hunger. It may take a lot of difficulty to know what YOUR hunger and with time, you may give up.
Do you remember a time when learnt a new tool in your early days of your career? You were so excited to learn that tool and I can see glow in your eyes NOW as well as you even remember those times.
“Many successful founders were not wealthy when they began. They were hungry for success.” Eric Ries
Have you seen a child who is playing a game on his phone? You need to look at his/her curiosity of playing that game.
There is a similar child-like excitement in the ‘Master Achievers’ that fuels their curiosity and motivates them to take their new ideas to next level. They’re always open to learning and do not assume that they know it all. This is because the moment you think that YOU are done with learning, you limit your creativity and cannot succeed in life.
There should be continual self-development happening for our satisfaction of our career and life.
The ‘Master Achievers’ are hungry for achievement, which means that achievement excites them with a sense of newness, and inspires creativity and excitement.
When you’re through with ONE level of achievement then YOU need to be curious on what should you do next.
The ‘Master Achievers’ do not see limit but they see possibilities – and that’s what separates them from the rest of the people.
So, YOU should always thrive to be like the ‘Master Achievers’ to be always hungry to achieve things that bring JOY and HAPPINESS in your life and career.
Being hungry let’s you go all in and push all your food o the center of the table. There is no PLAN B.
In addition, when you’re hungry then you’ll either find a way out or make one. Instead, when you’re NOT hungry then you’ll always make excuses.
Hungry keeps YOUR eyes wide open to even a small window of opportunities, and turn into a huge hole.
Being hungry for achievement is definitely a game changer!
The best thing you can do is to go all in and bet on yourself because if you don’t then nobody else will.
YOUR hunger determines your success.
