Not only this, many schools and colleges have also tied up with them to continue with their learning. Indeed, this is a positive sign for the future as the students will experience a new wave of learning. So far, schools and colleges were reluctant to try online learning and restrict themselves to the classroom environment. This outbreak has given them an opportunity to break the shackles and look towards the future of learning.

Usage of web conferencing tools

The coronavirus outbreak has forced many people to stay at home but the work is still going as usual for some people. There’re some companies who’ve allowed their employees to work from their home. They’re using various web conferencing tools like Zoom, GoToMeeting, and WebEx to meet virtually. This will increase collaboration among the team members, and also help boost the teamwork.

Social media consumption has increased

The social media consumption has suddenly shown a massive growth because of coronavirus pandemic. It is estimated that there has been around 87% increase in social media usage in the midst of lockdown. In India alone, it has been seen that people are spending around 4 hours of their time on social media channels like Facebook, Whatsapp, and Instagram. Before the lockdown happened, the social media consumption was around 150 minutes per day but it jumped to about 280 minutes per day immediately after a week of the lockdown. The people are largely using social media to consume news and communicate with their friends and family members.

Online video streaming has seen a massive growth

As the people are stick inside due to coronavirus outbreak, the online media streaming of channels like Netflix, Prime, and Hotstar has increased manifold. The numbers has gone up as people stay at home to prevent the spread of coronavirus. The international streaming activity has risen by 30% in March because of quarantine efforts and more growth is expected.

I know that these are trying times for all of us as we need to stay at home and quarantine ourselves to prevent the spread of coronavirus.

However, we need to always stay positive and be as optimistic as possible.
